All About Me

Why Risheywa?

Many people are so curious about what this name means, where it came from and why this name.

In Veda's words, "I chose this name for my art because the process of making my creations is a very meditative experience for me. It makes me feel like a tree spreading her roots into the Earth. I end up feeling very grounded after finishing each piece."

Veda comes from the Indian Himalayas, Himachal Pradesh to be specific. She grew up traveling with her 2 hippie parents

Throughout her life, she was surrounded by travellers and backpackers from all over the world because of which she has learnt about life, culture and art from almost all parts of the Earth. Veda is a multilinguist. She had a basic knowledge of over 7 languages including English, Hindi, Arabic, Hebrew, Spanish, Nepalese, Farsi, Pahari and Punjabi. Veda can also read and write most of these languages.

Music became a huge part of Veda's life as soon as she picked up a Ukulele. She now plays other instruments like Guitar, Djembe, Didgeridoo etc. Her speciality as a musician is that she performs folk songs of many different languages of the world that she has learnt in her travels.

Veda is very art-oriented and moves about in her daily life observing normal objects to bring out their Beauty.
